Workshops

I am always keen to find new opportunities and to work with different organisations and people. I’m currently based in Macclesfield but also work across all across the North West, Yorkshire, and anywhere else that will have me!

If you’re interested booking any workshops please get in touch via my Contact page. To see what I’m currently working on visit my What’s On page.

Freelance Artist

As a freelance artist I deliver singing workshops for a variety of different organisations. I aim to make my sessions an accessible and inclusive space. Groups sit together in a circle and I teach songs by ear so no prior experience or knowledge is needed. I teach songs from a variety of traditions and languages from Ghanaian lullabies and Hebridean Seal calling songs, to English folk songs and original pieces. I also focus on body and breath work to help release stress and tension in order to free up the singing voice.

I work with people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. I’ve worked with schools, arts charities, hospices, established choirs, community groups, and within the prison system, as well as working with people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and dementia. I work in a flexible manner, adapting the pace to suit the needs of a group and the diversity of needs within that. People participate and learn in different ways and that is always okay!

Organisations I have worked with include: Hoot Creative Arts, Mantle Arts, and The Mighty Creatives.

Festival Workshops

I run a range of workshops suitable for festival audiences including Simply Sing: a workshop for all ages and abilities, Dawn Chorus: welcoming in the morning through song, Twilight Chorus: a evening workshop celebrating the night skies and the end of the day. I can also create tailor made workshops to tie into the theme or location of an event e.g a nature based workshop for an event in a woodland setting.

I have previously worked with Just So Festival, Timber, Greenbelt, and Holmfirth Woven Festival
